- Reporting faults and errors: Misleading headline; speculation; fearmongering
- Description: German "Welt online" ist Heading: "Es bleiben 48 Stunden um Tchernobyl zu verhindern" which means "Remaining 48 Hours to avoid Tchernobyl".
There is no information available to affirm any timeline. In the following text they write "probably" and relate to Sebastian Pflugbeil, the president of the organisation for the 'Gesellschaft für Strahlenschutz' (Society for the proctection from radiation), who said "probably next day or day after there will be a decision." The second paragraph is pure speculation by Pflugbeil: "Possibly there might be fires. If this happens [...]. There might be a catastrophe at least as terrible as Chernobyl.

- Reporting faults and errors: Disturbing, fearmongering analogy; speculation as fact
- Description: Now the Welt is choosing to call the helicopter water dousing crews "Kamikaze" pilots. Rampant speculation written as fact: "Most of the helpers [at Fukushima Daiichi] will die, not immediately, but very soon. Like the many thousand people, who were send unprotected into the damaged plant at Ukranian Chernobyl.

- Reporting faults and errors: Pure fabrication; rumor spreading; serious claims without proof or sources
- Description: The Welt uncritically reports the delusional rantings of Robert Hetkämper of ARD TV, who claims that homeless people, foreigners, and minors are being sent to the Fukushima plant. It is also claimed by another 'expert' that "the survival chances of the supposedly volunteer helpers are minimal". No criticism of these views is reported.

- Reporting faults and errors: Unproven claims that the Japanese government forgets the Tsunami victims because of Fukushima
- Description: Considering that the focus of the German media including Die Welt was almost entirely on Fukushima, the headline "Japans forgets victims of Tsunami because of Fukushima" is nothing but hypocrisy. The writer claims that people in Kessenuma City have nothing to eat and drink and are searching desperately for basic needs. However, a restaurant serving food, including sake, mysteriously appears two paragraphs later. Not one word about the massive support which is taking place, not one word about the thousands of volunteers already working at the evacuation centers. This is not even sensationalistic and overblown, this is vicious writing. The article quotes a random resident as saying that he could not even think about rebuilding, but here is an article from April 5th in Japanese outlining a detailed cleanup and reconstruction plan which has just been approved by the city council of Kessenuma: http://www.kahoku.co.jp/news/2011/04/20110405t11036.htm "Human interest" seems to have drowned out the basic facts of the situation here.
